Student Responsibilities
Students using VA education benefits at KSU have ongoing responsibilities to both KSU and the Department of Veterans Affairs. These responsibilities include:
- Submitting a benefits request every semester you wish to use your benefits, while adhering to the posted dates and deadlines.
- Reviewing all emails sent by the KSU School Certifying Officials (SCOs).
- Completing Out-of-State Waiver paperwork with Tuition Classification, if applicable.
- Keeping your contact information updated with both KSU and the VA.
- Carefully reviewing Degree Works to confirm that your classes meet degree requirements.
- Paying all charges on your student account that are not covered by the VA by the payment deadline each semester.
- Verifying your enrollment with the VA on the last day of each month.
The VA and the School Certifying Officials at KSU closely monitor each student's enrollment status and academic program to ensure benefits are paid appropriately.
