How to Use Your VA Education Benefits at KSU

To start using VA education benefits, you must already be formally admitted to Kennesaw State University as a degree-seeking undergraduate or graduate student. If you are a prospective student and need information about applying to Kennesaw State University, please visit KSU Admissions.

If you are a transient (guest) student here at KSU seeking a degree at another institution, please contact your designated KSU School Certifying Official for information. Our office will need a Parent Letter from your home institution.

The School Certifying Officials in the Office of the Registrar submit eligible enrollment to the VA for students to receive their VA education benefits.

If you haven't already applied with the Department of Veterans Affairs to use VA education benefits, please plan on applying at least two months before the start of your first term at Kennesaw State University to obtain your Certificate of Eligibility.

NOTICE: Our office is currently updating the benefits request process to better assist students.

  • If you are new to using benefits at KSU, please follow the guidance on this website to complete the Intake process.
  • If you have already completed the Intake process, please wait for further instructions before submitting any forms for future semesters. If you are requesting certification for Spring 2026 or prior semesters, please use the Request for Certification form.

We are transitioning to a new online benefits request system, which students will use to submit a request each semester. Additional communication and instructions will be shared once the new system becomes available.

First time using VA Education Benefits at KSU?

Start by completing our Intake process. Email your KSU VA Intake form and a copy of your VA issued Certificate of Eligibility (COE) to your School Certifying Official using your KSU student email.

For any VA application or eligibility questions, please call the VA Education line at 1-888-442-4551.

All required documents must be submitted electronically using your KSU student email. Please follow the instructions on the forms to email documents to the correct email address.

Department of Veterans Affairs Tuition Classification

If you are classified as out-of-state for tuition purposes (as stated on your KSU acceptance letter), please contact the Tuition Classification team to see if you are eligible to have your classification changed or to apply for the appropriate waiver.
