A KSU creative steps into Sara Blakely’s world through a hands‑on, innovation‑driven internship.
My six‑week internship brings our intern class into Sara Blakely’s world — the founder of SPANX and SNEEX — and is grounded in her signature perspectives on mindset, invention and brand‑building. As an intern, I gain hands‑on experience, mentorship from senior leaders and a behind‑the‑scenes look at how innovation meets fashion. We’re also teaming up on a high‑impact Sneex project that will help shape the future of the brand.
Event coordination and flexibility. Serving as vice president of the Filipino Student Association taught me how to adapt when plans change, coordinate events quickly and stay calm in stressful situations.
Donna Colebeck was instrumental in my acceptance into the art program and in helping me find my voice as an artist. She helped me rebuild the foundation of my art so my graphic design work could thrive.

The universe rewards audacity, not potential. Be loud, ask questions and follow up. Do something that makes you stand out from other applicants. For my social media position, I tagged my internship at every step of the process. I followed up within 24 hours after each interview round and made sure the team knew my name.
