From KSU to cutting-edge tech: KSU student powers up his future in POS hardware & payments engineering.

Tell us about your role. 

I help business clients get set up with our software and payment terminals. I program the payment apps and test hardware to make sure everything works correctly before it ships out to clients.

How did KSU help you get there?  

KSU helped me by giving me professional experience and technical exposure on campus. Those opportunities prepared me for real‑world work and helped me feel confident stepping into this internship.

What life skills did you develop at KSU?  

I developed professionalism and technical competency. Being involved on campus taught me how to communicate clearly, stay organized, and work effectively — skills that translate directly into my internship. 

Who was your most impactful mentor?  

Elizabeth Visscher has been very impactful to me. I’ve talked to her about some of my challenges, and her guidance has helped lead me to success. 

How has KSU’s environment contributed to your success?

Being around other motivated students and a successful environment has helped improve my mindset and pushed me to grow.

What was your most impactful moment at KSU?  

Having mentors who helped me get to where I am now, along with the resources that supported me in securing this internship.

How will this experience help you pursue your future career dreams? 

This internship gives me relevant experience in the field I want to pursue and provides financial and technical knowledge that will help me achieve higher goals.
