Event Descriptions

  • Over 15 FREE health screenings ranging from muscular strength to glucose to vision. Visit 15 stations and get a T-shirt! Offered every spring semester.
  • Join the Peer Health OWLs around campus for giveaways, tips, and fun activities to better your overall health and well-being!
  • Join us on the campus Green as we celebrate National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week with stations on alcohol awareness and lots of fun activities and giveaways.
  • Health Promotion and Wellness' cooking demonstration kitchen allows students an opportunity to learn how to prepare easy, nutritious and budget-friendly meals on their own. Students will not only learn new recipes, but also basic culinary skills, healthy eating and food safety tips!

  • Nutrition workshops are designed to help you dive into a nutrition topic you are interested in. You can expect engaging education and activities and time to ask a registered dietitian your questions. Workshop topics include healthy eating, eating on a budget, sports nutrition, intuitive eating, and body image.
  • Learn how to monitor your blood alcohol concentration by getting your personalized BAC card! To get your card, stop by the Health Promotion and Wellness office located in the Student Recreation and Activities Center, suite 1200.
  • Stop by and chat with the Peer Health OWLs and other campus partners for fun and games and information on how to stay safe during Spring Break.
  • Is the kitchen just the place where you refill your water bottle? Looking for meal options that do not come in a paper bag with extra napkins? Join our very own HPW chef for a live demonstration on cooking simple, affordable meals that will not break the bank. Sit back, watch, learn, and enjoy sampling some tasty creations along the way. Hosted on the Kennesaw campus.
  • This is your chance to get real, reliable nutrition advice without judgment or lectures. Stop by one of the dining halls to chat one‑on‑one with a registered dietitian about the topics that matter to you, from fueling your busy schedule and eating on a budget to navigating dining halls or wellness goals. Come with questions, leave with practical tips you can use.
  • Learn how to prepare nutritious, budget‑friendly recipes using minimal equipment and basic cooking skills. Come watch, learn practical tips, and leave feeling confident you can eat well without a full kitchen or advanced cooking experience. Hosted on the Marietta campus.
  • FREE and CONFIDENTIAL rapid HIV testing offered by the Cobb and Douglas Public Health is available each month! Condoms and other sexual health supplies will be provided. 
  • The purpose of the American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED program is to help participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing and first aid emergencies. The program teaches skills that participants need  to know to give immediate care to suddenly injured or ill person until more advanced medical personnel arrive and take over. Available only to KSU students, staff, and faculty. A valid KSU ID is required.
  • Unwind & destress from the semester with our four-legged friends from Happy Tails! Other stress-relieving activities & tips will be provided. 
  • Join the Peer Health OWLs for stress relief activities while practicing mindful moments in the Relaxation Station on the Kennesaw campus.
  • A campus-wide celebration focused on building connections rooted in respect, communication, and care. Throughout the week, students can participate in free HIV testing, engaging consent and communication workshops, interactive sessions on love languages, and other wellness-focused events.
  • Pop in for a low-key session of building, tinkering, and connecting-No pressure, just play! There will be puzzles, Lego, tinker toys, and more! Hosted on the Marietta campus.
  • Join us for a stress-less event. Build your own terrarium and enjoy some hot tea!
  • Take a break from the stress of finals! We will have giveaways and fun activities to help you relax.
  • MHFA is a skills-based training course that teaches people how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorder.
  • QPR are three simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. People trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help.
