Campus.kennesaw Internal Site

In partnership with UITS, Kennesaw State Strategic Communications and Marketing department is developing a modern, functional and streamlined experience for external and internal audiences visiting the Kennesaw State University website. This new environment, built specifically for the internal campus community, is campus.kennesaw.edu.  
 
This change improves the website experience by enhancing its professionalism and making it easier for users to access relevant information. Additionally, it helps identify the types of materials most suitable for internal audiences, further enriching the overall user experience. 
 
By the end of December 2025, all identified units will be transitioned, with larger more complex sites moving spring 2026. Rest assured, this move does not impact your site visibility. All sites will remain fully operational and searchable within the site search feature and via Google.

Upcoming Website Changes

Jan–Feb 2025: Official planning began with actions, while the Omni 2 migration of all KSU websites wrapped up in May.
Feb–June 2025: Web teams coordinated with leadership to plan and configure the project.

What is campus.Kennesaw.edu

  • The new campus hub site (campus.kennesaw.edu) will be a resource hub separate from the external site (www.kennesaw.edu) dedicated to the needs of the internal campus community. 
  • The goal is to streamline the website, giving it a more professional feel. This will help streamline access to the most relevant information for various audience groups. 
  • Phase 1 will begin on July 1 and continue through December 2025. Phase 2 will begin in January 2025. 
  • All site owners using Omni CMS are affected. Departments included in Phase 1 will be contacted with the next steps.
  • Access will remain unchanged. Use your web browser as usual to reach the site. 
  • Yes. Redirects will remain in place for at least one year, but we recommend updating your bookmarks.
  • A new main navigation, enhanced search, and a comprehensive A–Z Index will help you find departmental pages.
  • Access is limited to approved users. To request access, contact Strategic Communications.
  • Please reach out to the Stratcomm Web Team to confirm your level of access and request access as needed.
  • Your department will be contacted with the details of your site’s move.  
  • Yes! This is the website status page for our new website project. Please check back routinely for more updates as the project progresses.
  • Campus.kennesaw won't require login credentials, allowing external audiences to access content when needed. 
  • The website will now have two distinct domains—one focused on serving the current campus community and the other designed for prospective students, families, and the broader public. Each will feature unique headers to clearly distinguish between the two. The main body content will remain consistent across both.

 

Sites Transitioning

  • No, your site will be moved exactly as it exists today. The only changes will involve the web address, and the organization of content intended for external audiences. 
  • If you need a copy of your old site, you can request a backup of those files.   
  • Site owners will continue to manage their content. The only change is that new page creation and edits on the external site will be managed by Strategic Communications. 
  • Please send a service ticket or email service@kennesaw.edu with details of your request. 
  •  No. They will stay the same.  
  • You can find your unit in the dropdown above. Only 90 sites across Kennesaw.edu will be moving to the new environment. College sites will move at a later date so that information for current students, faculty, and staff will reside in the internal environment. 
  • No downtime is expected, but there will be a temporary "freeze" period when site updates cannot be made.
  • While you should always stay current on your Omni training, the internal site will be hosted in Omni CMS, leveraging existing design and web infrastructure. This minimizes manual migration and maintains familiar processes for content editors.
  • There will be slight design changes in the main navigation for both campus hub and external sites. Additionally, a new universal footer will be introduced for added consistency.
