Limited Submission & Program Grant Requirements

Two types of grant proposals, limited submissions and program implementation grants, require additional institutional approval beyond the chair and dean, and these must be discussed with the Office of Research prior to submission.

Limited Submission Grants

Definition

A limited submission grant is a funding program for which the sponsor has restricted the number of applications or proposals an institution can submit in response to that program.

Guidelines

KSU determines which proposal(s) can move forward:

  • If a limited submission deadline is less than 30 days away, priority goes first to any team that has applied to the opportunity and received strong reviews in a recent previous cycle and second to whichever team finishes their intent to submit (ITS) first.

  • If a limited submission deadline is 30 or more days away, priority is determined through a mandatory internal competition.

Responsibility of Potential Applicant
  • A potential applicant must check InfoReady to see if there is already a competition for the limited submission opportunity.

  • If InfoReady does not contain a competition, the potential applicant must email us at researchdev@kennesaw.edu to express their interest.

Program Implementation Grants

Definition

Program Implementation Grants include scholarship programs for students (NSF, NRC, DOE), college readiness programs for local area high school students, and other programs where KSU is providing a program for either KSU or external constituents.

Guidelines

Proposals for such programs must be approved by the university because they represent KSU and often only one proposal from KSU will be considered, although there is no official limitation on the number of proposals from an institution.

Responsibility of Potential Applicant

A potential applicant must email us at researchdev@kennesaw.edu if a proposal is being developed for any program that requires this additional institutional approval from KSU.
