This summer, HR teams partnered across the university to support important hiring
and onboarding efforts, helping KSU recruit talented employees and welcome new faculty
as they begin their journey at the university.
KSU Dining and Human Resources joined forces to host two successful hiring events focused on filling critical campus positions. On July 25 in Kennesaw, a team of 30 staff members worked together to interview candidates and make on-the-spot hiring decisions, resulting in more than 25 new hires. Building on that momentum, a second hiring event was held on August 1, where 20 staff members collaborated to make an additional 11 hires.
That same spirit of partnership carried into preparations for Fall Faculty Orientation. Coordinators from Talent Acquisition, Student Employment, and Talent and Culture Strategy worked together to welcome 74 new faculty members on August 5.

Thoughtful planning, open communication, and coordination across HR teams helped create a welcoming and efficient experience for incoming faculty. Participants shared overwhelmingly positive feedback, highlighting the organization, convenience, and smooth flow of the orientation process.
The session also included an interactive audience poll led by Rachelle Striver, which revealed that most of the new faculty members were also new to Georgia. The finding underscored the importance of helping new employees not only navigate KSU, but also build connections, access resources, and feel supported as they become part of the university community.
From recruiting and hiring employees to welcoming new faculty, these efforts reflect the important role collaboration plays in supporting KSU’s people and advancing the university’s success. By bringing together expertise from across teams and departments, KSU continues to create a strong foundation for employees from their very first interaction with the university.
