Mental Health Training

KSU and the USG offer mental health training for students, faculty and staff to build awareness, strengthen knowledge and develop practical skills. These trainings support a campus environment where the entire community is better equipped to promote wellbeing and help individuals perform at their best.

Diabetes Prevention Program

In partnership with University of Georgia Extension, USG Well-Being is offering the CDC-recognized diabetes prevention lifestyle change program, PreventT2, to all staff,faculty and spouses whether or not they are enrolled in a USG healthcare plan. The PreventT2 lifestyle change program is a structured program developed specifically to prevent type 2 diabetes.

This one-year small group program teaches you how to eat healthy, increase your physical activity and manage your stress to prevent or delay type 2 diabetes, with the support of a lifestyle coach and research evidence-based curriculum from the CDC. It is designed for people who have prediabetes or are at risk for type 2 diabetes, but who do not already have diabetes. 

To be eligible for the program, you must:

Have a body mass index (BMI) of 25 or greater AND                  
Have prediabetes diagnosed by a blood test OR
Have a history of gestational diabetes OR
Screen positive for prediabetes using the American Diabetes Association risk test.

UGA Extension is launching several cohorts of the PreventT2 Program this November that will meet virtually via Zoom:

Full Plate Living Healthy Lifestyle Program

Your KSU Well-Being Team is here to support you on your journey to better health. We’re excited to invite you to learn about the Full Plate Living Healthy Lifestyle Program.

Full Plate Living is a free program by the non-profit Ardmore Institute of Health, certified by the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. It teaches you how to eat a high-fiber diet for more energy, lower cholesterol, better blood sugar, and weight loss. The program focuses on small, achievable changes for big results. Participants have reported weight loss, increased energy, and improved confidence in making healthy food choices.

Full Plate Living is for you if you want to:

  • Reduce risk of diabetes and heart disease
  • Control your blood sugar
  • Feel good

Easy to Understand and Fun to Follow No forbidden foods, no points to count, and no guilt or shame. Eating enough fiber from foods you love makes healthy eating easy.
