Accessing Simple Syllabus

To prepare for the upcoming Fall 2026 Semester, please use this Simple Syllabus Planning Document Template to gather the information you will need to complete the required components within Simple Syllabus. Faculty will be accessing their syllabi using the Simple Syllabus Dashboard. 

Please note that faculty who are assigned their courses in Banner after March 1 will not gain access until later in April, when the Banner integration will be fully launched with daily data synchronizations.

Simple Syllabus: What and Why

At their meeting on May 15, 2025, the Board of Regents approved a request from their Committee on Academic Affairs that all institutions within the University System of Georgia must post course syllabi on their public websites. This will ensure that students receive information about course content, course requirements, and the evaluation methods employed.

Simple Syllabus is a centralized, template-driven platform that enables instructors to quickly personalize and publish interactive class syllabi while ensuring that the components required to be publicly available are published automatically.

A list of the components the Board identified as needing to be made publicly available can be opened below.

    1. Course Prefix, Number, and Name
    2. Semester and Academic Year
    3. Course Description
    4. Course Learning Outcomes: These are the approved outcomes for the course.
    5. Required Course Materials: List of textbooks with ISBN, articles, lab supplies, equipment, course packs, etc. that students are expected to read or reference as part of the course.
    6. Grading Policy: Specify how final grades will be determined, including weighting scales or points assigned to various course requirements.
    7. Attendance Policy
    8. Academic Honesty/Integrity Statement
    9. Core IMPACTS Statement (if applicable)
