Workshop and training opportunities are for those interested in teaching Group Fitness,
Personal Training, and or learning more about fitness!
We partner with professional fitness organizations (Schwinn, YogaFit®, TRX®, and more!) to bring training opportunities to the KSU campus. Depending on the organization and type of training, the following features may vary, including:

Group Fitness Instructor Prep Program
Have a passion for group fitness? OwlFit can help you learn the essentials of group fitness instruction! After completing this course, you will walk away with the ability to design fun and effective fitness classes, adapt to class needs and dynamics, engage and motivate participants, and create an amazing group movement experience. The course curriculum will cover professionalism, fundamentals of exercise science, class design and planning, and class instruction and presentation. This course will fully prepare you to take the NASM Group Fitness Instructor Exam and equip you to lead group fitness classes upon certification.
Assignments and quizzes will be completed on your own time. In-person classes will meet once a week for two hours where hands-on application will take place. In-person classes will be held Fridays from 9:30am-11:30am in the Student Recreation and Activities Center.
Reimbursement of course is available pending OwlFit employment post certification.

Personal Training Prep Program
Interested in becoming a personal trainer? OwlFit can help you achieve your goal with the OwlFit Prep Program! This program will help prepare you to take the NASM Certified Personal Training Exam and pass it, preparing you to begin your journey as a personal trainer! Students will learn all the essentials to personal fitness training. Students will be introduced to the human movement system, the Optimum Performance Training (OPT) model and other domains of basic exercise science; assessment, exercise technique and training instruction, program design, considerations in nutrition, client relations and behavioral coaching, and professional development, practice, and responsibility
