OwlFit Group Fitness

OwlFit Programs offers a variety of group fitness classes suitable for all experience and fitness levels. Formats include Yoga, Cycling, Zumba®, Bootcamp, & more! Fitness classes are free to KSU students and recreation members. We recommend that you arrive 10 minutes early to class and bring your KSU ID.

Mind & Body

  •  is a full body conditioning program that blends cardio, strength training, Pilates, and stretching to maximize results.
  • is a style of yoga that matches breath to movement to achieve a continuous flow.
  • is a therapeutic yoga class that is designed to promote holistic well-being by cultivating an intentional self-care practice and developing the mind-body connection. Participants will engage in restorative yoga practices, including breath techniques, postures, and meditation.
  • is a class to help you wind down from the week through the practice of stretching and breathing techniques. You will build a strong foundation of flexibility, strength, and stamina while reducing stress, enhancing awareness, and practicing personal growth.

 

Strength & Conditioning

  • is a class concentrating highly on the abdominals, lower back, and lower body, this challenging but fun workout is for all fitness levels.
  • is a combination of athletic based strength and cardio movements in a circuit training format. This full body workout will incorporate a variety of equipment and activities to achieve all-around fitness. 
  • is a full-body workout focused on progression. The more you come back, the more you’ll see yourself get stronger, move easier, and feel more comfortable with physical activity. All levels welcome.

Dance

  • is a fusion of Latin and International music/dance themes that create a dynamic and exciting environment. Based on the principles that a workout should be "fun and easy to do". The routines feature aerobic/fitness interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body.

  • is a mix of all your favorite hip hop, pop and international songs and rhythms all in one class! Hear your favorite songs while dancing your favorite moves for a dynamic, fun filled, cardio and dance fitness class! Get ready because it’s time to WERK!
  • Get ready to unleash your inner dancer in Hooty Hip-Hop! This high-energy class combines the latest hip-hop choreography with an upbeat, fun atmosphere. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned dancer, you'll learn exciting routines while jamming out to the hottest hits. Join us for a lively workout that focuses on rhythm, expression, and community. Bring your moves, your groove, and a whole lot of energy!
  • is a throwback to old-school aerobics with a modern twist. Step into the past with this dance class that is sure to bring up your energy and burn calories.

Cardio

  • is a great cardiovascular workout. Pedal through hill climbs, sprints, and many other challenging drills and exercises. All levels are welcome. Cycle Rush is everything you love about cycling in 45 minutes and Cycle Express is a 30-minute version. 
  • is an instructional and high energy class. Learn proper boxing technique that you will apply in practical situations. Each class will include a variety of bag work, shadowboxing, partner work, footwork, cardio, and other strength-based exercises. Personal boxing gloves are recommended.
  • is a stand-up combat sport of Thailand that includes the use of punches, kicks, elbows, and knees. Get ready to learn techniques and combinations while participating in a dynamic and energetic class. Personal gloves are recommended.
  • is a martial art and combat sport from South Korea where the name translates to “The way of the foot and the fist.” Get ready to learn how to kick from all angles and positions while developing great flexibility, strength, stamina, and balance in your lower body.

 

*arrive 15 minutes early for a 1-on-1 bike fitting with the instructor. Please bring a water bottle and towel to this class. 

Patron Expectations and Guidelines

Class Attendance & Arrival

Participants are encouraged to arrive 10 minutes before class start time, especially if you are new to the format. Entry may be denied for those that are late. Certain limitations may apply based on room size and equipment availability.

You must bring your KSU and/or membership ID to participate in the class.

Group Fitness Etiquette & Guidelines

  • Classes will begin PROMPTLY at the time stated on the schedule. Entry may be denied to those that are late.
  • Participants are expected to be responsible and respectful of others.
  • Personal belongings should be stored in a locker prior to the start of class.
  • Please report injuries and facility or equipment problems to the Department of Sports and Recreation staff immediately.
  • Participants are expected to arrive on time for class and to stay through the cool down.
  • Participants that arrive after the warm up may be denied entry and/or asked to leave.
  • Patrons are not permitted to use equipment in the studios for use outside of OwlFit programs.
  • DO NOT drop dumbbells or other equipment on the floors as it may cause damage. Use a weight that you can safely lower to the floor or ask for assistance.
  • Please wipe down equipment before and after use.
  • Appropriate attire is required - athletic attire and closed-toed shoes.
  • Dispose of trash in appropriate containers.
  • Participants are strongly recommended to bring a personal exercise towel and water bottle.
  • Participants are expected to wear appropriate closed-toed athletic shoes for group fitness classes. The exception would be at the direction of the instructor and/or during mind and body classes.
  • Only the Group Fitness Instructor may adjust the stereo equipment.
  • All patrons participate at their own risk.

Why do you Love to train?: As a personal trainer, strongman competitor, and former football student-athlete, I believe in the power of training to strengthen both mind and body. I enjoy working with clients who share a passion for lifting and self-improvement. Together, we’ll push limits, build resilience, and achieve your goals—both in and out of the gym.
