New Students

Welcome to the Michael J. Coles College of Business at Kennesaw State University! We are excited about helping you get started on your journey toward completing your business degree.

Advising is not required before attending orientation, but it is recommended. Advising, in a group setting, is part of the orientation schedule, and advisors will be present to assist students with registering. 

Pre-Orientation Advising Appointments give students the opportunity to discuss courses and prepare for registering during orientation. To ensure that you have enough time with your advisor, please schedule a 30-minute appointment.  New first-year students will register for classes during their orientation. Students who do not attend orientation will register a few days before the start of the semester.

If you are/were dual enrolled, please have unofficial copies of your transcripts. Inform your advisor if you anticipate earning any AP/IB credit. Write down your questions and bring them to your advising session.

To make the most of your advising experience, you’ll want to make sure that your transcript has been evaluated, and those credits appear in DegreeWorks prior to scheduling an advising appointment. To ensure that you have enough time with your advisor, please schedule a 30-minute appointment.
