Coles Admission Requirements

To graduate with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree, prospective students must apply for and be accepted to the Coles College of Business.

  • Declare a Business Major
  • Complete 45 Hours Overall
  • Complete the following 7 courses with a GPA of 3.00 or higher in Coles Admission courses, including a grade of C or better in each course.

Students under catalog year 2026 or later: (Students who started at KSU and declared a business major August 2026 or later.)

ACCT 2101 Principles of Accounting I

ACCT 2102 Principles of Accounting II

BUSA 1000 Introduction to Business

ECON 2106 Principles of Microeconomics

ECON 2105 Principles of Macroeconomics

ECON 2400 Quantitative Problem-Solving Techniques

IS 2200 Information Systems & Communications

Students under catalog year prior to 2026: (Students who started at KSU and declared a business major before August 2026.)

Complete BUSA 2150 with a grade of “S” 

ACCT 2101 Principles of Accounting I

ACCT 2102 Principles of Accounting II

ECON 2106 Principles of Microeconomics

ECON 2105 Principles of Macroeconomics

ECON 2300 Business Statistics

IS 2200 Information Systems & Communications

BLAW 2200 Legal and Ethical Environment of Business

If applicable, meet the Coles College Policy for CLEP and AP Test Score requirement(s).

The Coles Admission GPA calculation does NOT use your overall GPA. It is strictly based on the courses listed. 

When to Apply

Generally, students apply to Coles during or following their sophomore year at KSU. Students must have a minimum of 45 credit hours to apply, in addition to meeting the Admission GPA requirements. Students must wait to apply until all Coles admission courses have been completed and grades are showing in DegreeWorks (usually the day after grades are due for the term).

Where to Apply 

  1. Log into https://student-apps.kennesaw.edu  to access the Coles Admissions Application
  2. Once logged in, choose the “Coles College of Business” app
  3. Once chosen, chose the “+ Create” option in the top right corner
  4. Your student information and lower division coursework will then populate
    • If you have a substitution for a Coles admission course, you need to check the box next to the course to continue with the application.
  5. Chose the “Apply” option in the top right corner
  6. Select your Major, applicable phone number, work status and hours worked each week
  7. Hit the “Apply” button to submit your admission application
