Orientation

Complete the master’s program online orientation.

Test Outs

If you are a new student and would like to test out the foundation courses, you'll need to: 


1.  Schedule your tests before the program starts. You will find the deadline for the test on the decision letter.
2. Fill out this PowerForm. Once the Registar's Office processes the form, the MSIT program coordinator will schedule your exam.

We do not offer foundation course waivers for working experience.

Course Registration

  • See IT course schedules and forecast. To register for courses, check your course plan and DegreeWorks to check what courses you need to take.
  • To find offered courses and CRNs: find the list of courses on OwlExpress.
  • For course substitution, email Dr. Shirley Tian and Ms. Melinda Ross.
    • Final decision will be made by the Office of Registrar.
  • Want to take more than 12 credit hours in one semeter? Please fill out this overload request form and send it to Dr. Shirley Tian.
  • Getting a prerequisite and test score error?  Click on the course number on DegreeWorks. A pop-up window will come up with information about the class.
  • If you need to register for a course with a prerequsite, you can submit a course override request.
  • If the course is full, you can add yourself to the waitlist. Do not wait until the last minutes to register for courses.
    • Please be patient when you are on the waitlist, If you still can't register for the course one week before the semester starts, email Dr. Shirley Tian
  • If you'd like to change your coursework catalog, complete this form.  Download and fill out the form; then use Docusign to obtain the signatures. Email your completed form with signatures to the Graduate College.

More Important Info

  • As a MSIT student, you are eligible to receive the embeded graduate certification in Data Analytics and Intelligent, AI and Cloud Technology, IT security or Enterprise IT.

    You must declare the graduate certificate as early as possible. It will be added to the DegreeWorks once the form is processed.

    If you're an international student (holding a F-1 Visa), you must take CSE 7983 Graduate Internship to apply for CPT through ISSSO.

  • Check your progress on DegreeWorks. With the help of their academic advisors, students are responsible for tracking and meeting graduation requirements. 

    Graduation Requirements  

    KSU Graduate Academic Policies 5.1

    To be eligible to receive a graduate degree, you must:

    • Complete at least 75% of your total semester hours through instruction at Kennesaw State University. 
    • Earn an institutional grade point average of 3.0 calculated on all graduate courses attempted at KSU.
    • Earn a grade of “C” or better in each course presented to meet degree requirements. 
    • Complete any grade of I (Incomplete), IP (In Progress), or NR (Not Reported) grades.
    • Complete all program requirements, including any comprehensive exams, thesis work, or dissertation work.

    Graduation Petition 

    • See instructions for the graduation petition. There will be a graduation petition fee to receive your diploma. The diploma will not be automatically issued to you. 
    • To declare the embedded graduate certificate, read instructions and fill out this form.
  • The Graduate College no longer changes major, and students will need to submit a new application.
