Bailey School of Music Welcomes Renowned Composer Tom Cipullo for Two Day Residency

The Bailey School of Music at Kennesaw State University will welcome acclaimed American composer Tom Cipullo for a two day residency on March 23–24. The visit will provide students with the opportunity to learn directly from one of the most respected composers of contemporary vocal music. Cipullo’s operas and songs are performed throughout the United States and internationally, and his honors include a Guggenheim Fellowship and the Arts and Letters Award from the American Academy of Arts and Letters.

City of Kennesaw and KSU Collaborate on Immersive Youth Theatre Experience Exploring Beauty and Belonging at Smith-Gilbert Gardens

The Kennesaw State University Department of Theatre & Performance Studies presents School Girls; or, the African Mean Girls Play, a bold and uproariously funny work by acclaimed playwright Jocelyn Bioh. Directed by Assistant Professor of Acting Jacqueline Springfield, the production opens February 17 and runs through February 22, 2026, in the Onyx Theater.

Student Spotlight: Cymone Jeter Brings Dance Beyond the Stage and Into the Community

A current student in the Department of Dance at Kennesaw State University, Cymone is putting her training into practice well beyond the studio this spring as a choreographer for Dancing with the Stars of Marietta, a community fundraiser benefiting Georgia Metropolitan Dance Theater. The annual event pairs local leaders with choreographers to raise funds supporting the organization’s professional productions and conservatory programming.

From the Stage to the Screen: KSU Alumna Rachel Wansker Brings Creatures to Life in Film and Television

A 2016 alumna of Kennesaw State University’s Geer College of the Arts, Wansker is now working as a professional puppeteer and performer in film and television. Her most recent work can be seen in the Paramount Pictures feature Primate, where she served as the principal puppeteer for the chimpanzee character, bringing nuanced expression, emotion and realism to a creature that feels strikingly – and terrifyingly – alive.

Hubbard Street Dance Chicago Returns to Georgia: A Homecoming, a Residency and a Vision for What is Possible

On January 30 and 31, the internationally celebrated company returns to Atlanta for their KSU debut with two performances at the Marietta Campus Dance Theater, alongside a multi-day residency with the Department of Dance that includes classes, mentorship and an open community class for dancers of all levels.
