KSU Faculty Member Co-Authors a New Global History of Animation

“We wanted to think about animation history as something truly global,” said Jeremy Speed-Schwartz, Assistant Professor in the School of Art and Design at Kennesaw State University's Robert S. Geer Family College of the Arts. “Much of what people think they know about animation has been shaped by the companies that survived to tell their own stories. We wanted to broaden that conversation to include the artists, industries, and cultures that have too often been overlooked.”

KSU Animation Students Bring Seneca Artist's Work to Life in Immersive Installation

It marks a remarkable partnership between institutions nearly 900 miles apart and offers KSU students a rare opportunity to apply their skills in a professional, culturally significant setting.

Annet Couwenberg: Sewing Circles Exhibition Slated to Open at Zuckerman Museum of Art

The Bernard A. Zuckerman Museum of Art at Kennesaw State University School of Art and Design will present a unique exhibition: Annet Couwenberg: Sewing Circles, opening January 28 and running through May 10, 2025. Annet Couwenberg: Sewing Circles presents an overview of ten years of cultural research, digital experimentation, and finished artifacts by Couwenberg, who uses lace as a primary material. Through her creations, the artist questions how traditional textile construction can be modified or transformed by adapting it to digital fabrication processes.
