Meeting Schedule

KSU's IRB meets the third Tuesday of each month, starting at noon. 

Proposals to be reviewed by the full board must be received at least one month in advance of the meeting at which a review is to be conducted. All protocols must be submitted via the Cayuse platform.

Research involving more than minimal risk, or involving research participants who are under 18 years of age, prisoners, or who for some reason are unable to give informed consent for their participation, will generally require several weeks for approval. Many low-risk proposals qualify for expedited review and do not require review at a regular IRB meeting. These types of proposals are reviewed throughout the month. Keep in mind that a reviewer may determine that a protocol in expedited review must instead go before the full board based on the details of the proposed work. 

Please be aware that proposals are not processed when Kennesaw State University is closed for business. Researchers should ensure that proposed studies are submitted well in advance of the date that the research project is scheduled to begin to allow for initial review, submission of possible revisions, and final approval.
