Computational Research

Computational resources are playing an increasingly important role in meeting the needs of researchers and in preparing students for careers in commercial and academic fields. To serve the needs of the KSU research community, Kennesaw State University provides specialized technology resources like the High Performance Computing cluster.  

The Center for Research Computing is committed to supporting the efforts of those with research computing needs by offering consultation, documentation, and training for compute facilities. The support, documentation, and technical expertise for research computing on this site is provided via a partnership between KSU’s Office of the Vice President for Research and the Office of the CIO and Vice President for Information Technology.

HPC Downtime: August 4, 2026

August 4th, 2026, from 8 AM to 9 PM

The system administrators have an approved downtime to apply updates to address the mitigation patches that were applied during the emergency downtime from the spring.  The updates will address some recent vulnerabilities as well.  The system will be unavailable, and all running jobs will be terminated that morning.  Please plan ahead and reach out with questions or concerns.

New rates for core facilities coming soon.

As we continually consider the usage, the lifetime and replacement funding, there will be a need to periodically ajdust the rates for our core services.

  • For KSU projects,
    • Ceph Storage will be increasing from $28 to $31 per TB per year.
    • Consultation rate will be increased to $90/hour.

High Performance Computing Spotlights

Check out the HPC Researcher Spotlights at KSU. This section highlights researchers utilizing KSU's High Performance Computing system for groundbreaking research projects. Featured are collaborations across various disciplines, extensive publications, and funded research. In our Spotlight Series, we explore the power of Bayesian Statistics in social science and business research.
