E-Scooter and Micromobility Safety
Micromobility devices like e-bikes and scooters are welcome at Kennesaw State University! To keep our campus community safe, there are important rules and regulations that must be followed. It is important that everyone on campus, including students, faculty, staff and visitors, follow these guidelines to prevent injuries, accidents and property damage.
Micromobility Rules and Regulations
- Keep devices outside. E-bikes, scooters and other micromobility devices are not allowed in any KSU building, including residential facilities.
- No indoor charging allowed. E-bikes, scooters and other micromobility devices are prohibited from charging inside any KSU building. This includes but is not limited to residential facilities, academic buildings, administrative buildings, student centers, event facilities, parking decks and stairwells.
- Do not block paths, walkways, entrances, ramps, stairs or emergency access routes.
- Only store your micromobility device at bike racks.

- Pedestrian Area Safety: Micromobility device users must always yield to pedestrians and wheelchairs. Device users must also walk their devices through crosswalks.
- Traffic laws apply to micromobility device users. This means device users must stop at stop signs, traffic lights and follow all rules that apply to motor vehicles on the road.
- Micromobility devices may only be operated outdoors and are not permitted inside buildings.
- All micromobility devices are subject to enforcement of local laws and codes, including but not limited to: GA Code GA Code § 40-1-1 (2024) and GA Code § 40-6-320 (2024)
- Yield to Others: Micromobility users must yield to pedestrians, wheelchairs and vehicles, including emergency vehicles.
- Ride Responsibly: Be aware of your surroundings as you may not be seen or heard by other road users. Please do not wear headphones while using your micromobility device.
- Wear a Helmet: Helmets greatly reduce the risk of serious injury in the event of an accident. For your safety, we strongly encourage all micromobility users to wear helmets every time they ride.

Enforcement
All micromobility devices are subject to enforcement of local laws and codes, including but not limited to: GA Code GA Code § 40-1-1 (2024) and GA Code § 40-6-320 (2024)
The University reserves the right to immobilize any micromobility device found in violation of the rules and regulations.
