The Real Estate department plays a key role in shaping the future of Kennesaw State University’s physical environment. From acquiring and managing property to supporting strategic development and disposition, we align real estate opportunities with the University’s broader vision. Our work helps translate the goals of the Campus Master Plan into thoughtful, forward-looking decisions that strengthen KSU’s campuses in Kennesaw and Marietta and support the evolving needs of the University community.

 

Our Services

  • Shepherding Real Estate projects through the USG and KSU approval processes
  • Oversight and management of the real estate acquisition process
  • Research behind property opportunities and disposition of real property
  • Manages the commercial leasing process including due diligence, negotiations, and liaising with the Board of Regents
  • Initiates and supports the Public Private Venture (PPV) transaction process
  • Supports Planning and Design and Construction team during project ramp up and close out
  • Manages easements, licenses and access for project work on campus 

 

What We Do

    • Acquire and dispose of real property on behalf of the University
    • Manage the commercial leasing process, including due diligence, negotiations, and lease administration
    • Liaise with the Board of Regents on all real estate matters requiring System-level approval
    • Maintain oversight of KSU's real estate portfolio across both campuses 
    • Support the Public Private Venture (PPV) transaction process from concept through execution
    • Structure and evaluate partnership opportunities that expand campus capacity and services
    • Coordinate with developers, legal counsel, and USG on partnership agreements 
    • Provide real estate input into Physical and Master Plan implementation, in collaboration with USG, university leaders, and stakeholders
    • Shepherd real estate–related capital projects through USG and KSU approval processes
    • Conduct and oversee feasibility studies related to property acquisition, leasing, or disposition 
    • Partner with university departments during pre-planning to define real estate needs, scope, timelines and legal agreements needed
    • Serve as a resource for departments navigating leasing, space, or property-related questions
