Get Academic Advising this Winter Break

During Winter Break, while the university remains open, advising offices will only offer Drop-In Advising.

What is Drop-In Advising?

  • No appointment necessary.
    • Simply arrive during one of the times listed for your advising center and join the waitlist.
    • Both in-person and virtual options are available.
  • Students are seen on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Wait times to see an advisor can vary, so plan your visit accordingly.

During Winter Break, advising office locations and availability may vary due to consolidated staffing. Please review your advising office’s hours and location before visiting. Kennesaw State University will be open with regular operating hours on December 22–24 and January 2, and closed for Winter Break from December 25 through January 1.

      1. When in Microsoft Teams, you should see a tab/icon for “Teams.”  Click it and when on the Teams page, it will show you any teams you are a member of.  In the top right corner, you will see “Join or create team” button.
      2. Please click it use the “Join a team with a code” option.
        1. THE TEAM CODE IS:  9aaxsqh
      3. It should add you to our COTA Virtual Advising Drop-Ins Team
      4. When you enter the Team, you will notice a “General” chat page.
      5. We are using this chat page as our sign-in sheet.  
        1. ONLY CHAT ONE TIME PER VISIT.
        2. Chat the name of your major.
      6. An advisor will send you an individual chat when you are next in line and ask if you’d like to continue typing back and forth or start a video call.
      7. If for any reason you need to leave before being helped, please reply to your own chat with “I will come back later.”
      8. If you do not respond to the advisor individual chat in 3 minutes, the advisor will need to move on to the next student and you will have to put yourself back into the advising queue with a new chat
