Advising

We provide a robust advising program to guide students through their academic and professional journeys. Our advising center offers personalized support for course selection, academic planning, and understanding degree requirements. We offer flexible advising sessions for undergraduate and graduate students, and students are encouraged to schedule appointments through the EAB Navigate system.

Academic Supports and Tutoring

 

SPCEET Student Success Center

The SPCEET Student Success Center provides peer-based academic support for engineering and engineering technology majors. Please check our schedule page for weekly course hours and instructions on how to join online sessions.

  • Availability: Monday through Friday, with both in-person and online options

SMART Center

The SMART Center at KSU provides tutoring for all current KSU students in Math, Science, Engineering, Humanities, and Social Science courses. Join free in-person or online tutoring sessions at any time, and visit the SMART Center website to check out workshops or other important dates.

  • Availability: Subject to specific courses and campus locations
  • In-Person Tutoring: ALC 4525 (Kennesaw) & Norton Hall 156 (Marietta)
  • Online Tutoring: Available both by appointment and virtual drop-in

Scholarships

KSU Engineering Scholarships

KSU offers various internal scholarships, including the U.S. Department of Energy University Nuclear Leadership Program, to help cover tuition and fees for engineering students in good academic standing. Interested students must complete the online KSU Scholarship Application between November 1st and March 15th to be considered for financial assistance.

Career Planning

Internships require prior approval before a student may enroll in the course. To qualify, internships must be technical in nature and directly related to your degree program. Approval requirements vary by degree. For degree-specific academic eligibility requirements, visit the Internships and Co-ops College-Specific Information page under SPCEET.

    • Look on Handshake and apply for internships
    • Look on sites such as LinkedIn and Indeed to find internships
    • Attend all events possible where industry professionals will be present & bring resumes
    • Attend the Internship Networking Events & Career Fairs
    • Make an appointment to speak with your Internship Coordinator

    • Engineering Standing
    • Review ISYE/IET Internship Flow Chart

    Application:

    • Must complete the ISYE Internship Agreement
    • Upload to a completed Handshake Experience form

    ENGR 3398 (Audit Credit Internship)

    Eligibility:

    • Sophomores, juniors, and seniors with a declared engineering or engineering technology major
    • Must have at least 30 completed credit hours with GPA 2.50 KSU or above

    Application:

    • Must complete the Handshake Experience form
    • Attend an internship workshop online and email their Career and Internship Advisor confirming they’ve watched it

    NOTE: Offered Spring and Summer semesters only 

    Industrial Engineering Technology

    IET 3398 (Internship)

    Eligibility:

    • Please review ISYE/IET Internship Flow Chart to begin

    Application:

    • Must complete the IET Internship Agreement
    • Upload to completedHandshake Experience form
