Italy: A Country with Many Cultures (September 18 - October 15, 2026)

Based in the picturesque, historic region of Tuscany, the Italy Fall Study Abroad Program offers students the opportunity to take two psychology courses – PSYC 3355: Cross Cultural Psychology and PSYC 4490: Psychology of Creativity. Courses will be taught by Dr. Sandara Scheier who has previously participated in study abroad programs in 2023 and 2025 and has extensive travel experience. 

  • Deadline: April 30, 2026
  • Cost: $5,245 (tuition & airfare not included)

The Land of the Rising Sun: Japan Adventure

This 3-week study abroad program in Japan, hosted by Kanda University in Chiba near Tokyo, offered students an immersive experience exploring both traditional and modern aspects of Japanese culture and society.

  • Dates: May 10 - May 31, 2025
  • Courses: PSYC 3760 (Asian American Identities) and PSYC 4490 (Special Topics: Gender Issues in Japan), both taught by Professor of Psychology Dr. Ginny Zhan

Mind & Culture: Exploring Taiwan

This 2-week study abroad program in Taiwan for Summer 2026 offered an immersive 3-credit experience that combined rigorous academic exploration with enriching cultural experiences in a region known for its dynamic blend of Western modernization and Eastern tradition. In addition to intercultural exchanges and field trips, students had the opportunity to conduct a mini research project, engage with local Taiwanese university students, and explore how cultural contexts shape perceptions of the self.

Italy: Summer Session I in Montepulciano

This summer study abroad program in Montepulciano, Italy, located in the historic region of Tuscany, offered students the opportunity to take lower- and upper-division coursework across a variety of disciplines. The program combined academic study with an immersive cultural experience in one of Italy’s most picturesque settings. Dr. Ordene Edwards taught psychology courses as part of the program.
