After Your Cohort Application: Next Steps with Honors

Thank you for applying to one of our elite first-year cohort programs! Here’s what happens next after you've earned admission to both Kennesaw State University and the KSU Journey Honors College:

Cohort Review Process

Once admitted to Kennesaw State University and the KSU Journey Honors College, your application will be reviewed by the appropriate Cohort Review Committee. Keep an eye on your KSU email for updates.

Invitations for Honors Interview Day

A select group of 100 applicants per cohort will be invited to attend Honors Interview Day in the Spring. This event will take place over two days, with one day hosted on the Kennesaw Campus and one day on the Marietta Campus. Each day will run from morning to mid-afternoon. Students will be invited to attend one session only, either on the Kennesaw Campus or the Marietta Campus.

Invitations will be sent to your KSU email by mid-February, and you may also receive a phone call from our Honors College faculty or staff. Each invited student can bring one guest. 

If you are not selected for an interview, you will also be notified via KSU email.

Cohort Offer Letters

After Honors Interview Day, first-year cohort offer letters will be sent via KSU email by the end of March. You may also receive a phone call from Honors College faculty or staff. If you are placed on a waitlist, you will be notified through your KSU email.

Acceptance

Follow the instructions in your cohort acceptance letter to accept your cohort seat and scholarship for Fall 2026!

Honors Interview Day Experience

Students invited to Honors Interview Day will enjoy a day of programming designed to help you learn more about KSU, the Journey Honors College, and your selected cohort, while also participating in an interview so we can get to know you better!

 

What You'll Experience:

  • Learn more about KSU Journey Honors College and explore our unique cohort programs
  • Connect with current Honors cohort students and hear about their experiences firsthand
  • Meet Honors faculty and staff who are here to support your academic journey
  • Explore campus resources and opportunities at the Campus Resource Fair
  • Take a personalized campus tour, including a visit to the Kennesaw Campus Honors Lounge or Marietta Campus Honors Lounge
  • Receive exclusive Honors swag and a KSU Bookstore coupon
  • Enjoy a complimentary lunch

Preparing For Your Interview

Honors Interview Day is an opportunity for the KSU Journey Honors College to learn more about you, your unique talents, and your aspirations, while also giving you the chance to learn more about us and what we offer! Not only will you interview for a seat and scholarship in one of the elite first-year cohorts, you will also learn more about the Honors curriculum, KSU's resources, and Honors benefits. You will hear from Honors students, faculty, and staff along the way.
