Supporting Graduate Student Success

The Graduate Fellowships and External Funding Office help graduate students identify and pursue external  fellowships, scholarships, grants, awards, and other funding opportunities.

Our goal is to make these opportunities easier to find and help students prepare competitive applications.

What You Will Find Here

Access a variety of resources and services that can help you find funding and prepare strong applications, including:

  • Featured funding opportunities
  • A searchable funding database with summaries, eligibility information, and application deadlines
  • Workshops
  • One-on-one consultations
  • Application guidance and support
  • Peer review of application materials

How to Prepare for Funding

Begin exploring funding opportunities early. Competitive applications may require research proposals, personal statements, recommendation letters, and other materials that take time to develop.

As you search and apply:

  • Start searching for opportunities before your first day in the program
  • Review eligibility requirements
  • Track deadlines in advance
  • Work with faculty mentors and advisors
  • Ask for feedback before you submit your application
  • Starting early gives you more time to develop a competitive application.

Keep Funding Information Current

External funding programs can change. Eligibility requirements, deadlines, award amounts, and other details may be updated from year to year.

Always review the sponsoring organization's official website before applying.
