Committees and Representatives

The House Committee makes sure the Staff Senate operates with accountability and efficiency. This committee oversees three critical areas: Bylaws, Budget, and Policies. They are responsible for reviewing, drafting, and recommending amendments to the organizational Bylaws, ensuring financial stewardship through careful budget planning and oversight, and establishing policies that guide the conduct and operations of the Senate.

The Staff Engagement & Recognition Committee, with its focus on Staff Recognition and the Starr Staff Award, fosters a culture of appreciation and motivation within the organization. This committee is dedicated to acknowledging the exceptional contributions of staff members through various recognition programs, including the prestigious Starr Staff Award. By identifying and celebrating the achievements and dedication of staff, the committee aims to boost morale, encourage high performance, and enhance staff engagement across the organization. The Communication and Collaboration Committee plays a vital role in ensuring transparent, effective communication and fostering collaboration among staff members within the organization. This committee is responsible for coordinating and disseminating important information to staff through various channels, including the organization's website and social media platforms. Additionally, it produces a monthly newsletter that highlights key initiatives, achievements, and upcoming events, ensuring staff members are well-informed and engaged. The committee also organizes town hall meetings, providing a forum for open dialogue, sharing updates, and addressing staff concerns. Through these efforts, the Communication and Collaboration Committee enhances the sense of community within the organization, promotes a culture of inclusivity and transparency, and supports the Staff Senate's mission to serve and represent staff interests effectively.

The Community Engagement Committee is tasked with connecting with on and off-campus partners, finding opportunities for Staff Senate to engage with and support our community. This committee focuses on volunteer work, scholarship fundraising, and collaborating with other organizations to serve and support the KSU community.
