The Adams Family Remembered: Constitution Day Program with Dept. of History

In partnership with the Department of History and Philosophy, join us in an insightful presentation about John and Abigail Adams and how they shaped the nation’s founding.
Marianna Holdzkom, History Professor and Adams Scholar, will be discussing her experience curating the Adams Family exhibit in our Athenaeum Gallery, as well as her book, Remembering John Adams, which explores Adams in scholarship, public memory, and pop culture.

WRBM Revolutionary Recipes
Monday, September 21 from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm | The Nest, Sturgis Library - First Floor, Kennesaw Campus
Enjoy a taste of history as the Williams Rare Book Museum (WRBM) and the Department
of History and Philosophy partner with University Dining to explore the culinary history
of the late 1700s through a display of rare cookbooks from the museum collection.
Hear from a historian about food and dining options in early America and a member of The Commons culinary team about how a historic recipe was recreated for the campus community.
Afterward, head over to The Commons to purchase a full serving of the special dish
at the Global Trotters station during lunch service.

WRBM The Declaration of Evelina: Belle Esprit Production

Treat yourself to a night at the theater as the Sturgis Library hosts The Declaration of Evelina, a one-act production about a young woman destined to change the literary world…and the man who told her she could.
Curtains are up on this 75-minute play (no intermission), inspired by the true story behind Jane Austen’s favorite novel, the 1778 publication of Evelina by Frances Burney.

Hear welcome remarks from our keynote speaker Andrew Zonneveld, co-founder of On Our Own Authority! publishing house and the ATL Radical Book Fair. Try your hand at zine making, collage, or paper crafts at our DIY stations around the Nest—or walk around at your leisure, create, and learn!
