Welcome to KSU!

The following advice is from your peers when they were Early Career Faculty.

First Things First…

  • NetID is the username for centralized access to KSU campus resources. This username will be used to gain access to most campus-supported technologies and requires Microsoft Authenticator as multifactor authentication to log in.
  • Your KSUmail address (NetID@kennesaw.edu) will be the primary way colleagues and students get in touch with you. It is set up after you complete the Human Resources onboarding process. Start checking it right away so that you don’t miss any important announcements.

  • KSU has gone digital. Faculty, staff, and students will get a Mobile Talon Card that is their official KSU ID and key to many services on campus. Full-time faculty will get their photo taken and Mobile Talon Card activated at New Employee Orientation. Those not able to or who do not attend New Employee Orientation can go to the Mobile Talon Card website to upload a photo.

Campus parking is also digital. You can register for parking through the Parking Portal. This will tie your permit to your license plate.

  • You should receive information via email to the early August New Faculty Orientation and Early Career Faculty Success Series.Don’t miss this opportunity to connect with colleagues from across disciplines and campuses! You’ll also receive valuable information about teaching at KSU.

And Then...

  • CETL offers a variety of mutual mentoring groups (MMGs) and communities of practice (CoP) which can help you build community and answer questions that arise as you navigate your first years at KSU.
  • Full time faculty should set up a private, formal meeting with your chair early in the semester to establish expectations for the first semester.
  • Professional headshots are provided by the Department of Career Planning and Development. Please visit their website for steps on getting your professional headshot.
  • Faculty meal plans are available and described on the Dining Services website.
  • KSU has many resources to support student success and wellbeing. Wellbeing@KSU is a hub of resources for students. KSU's Behavioral Response Team is a wonderful resource and your support team for dealing with students in distress. The team is ready and willing to speak with you about any situation. They also provide guidance on dealing with student misconduct
