Emergency Assistance (EA) Program
The KSU Emergency Assistance Program connects students experiencing unexpected financial hardship with available support and resources that may help them remain enrolled and continue their academic progress. Depending on a student's circumstances, support may include referrals to campus and community resources, financial wellness guidance, and, when appropriate and funding is available, emergency financial assistance.
Students must be actively enrolled in a degree-seeking program and explore all available financial aid options, including federal loan eligibility, before being considered for emergency funding. All requests are reviewed individually, and assistance is not guaranteed.
Emergency financial assistance is limited, available once per academic year, and may be used for qualifying educational and basic living expenses such as, but limited to, tuition, course materials, housing, and meals. Emergency assistance may provide financial support to cover the cost of:
- Temporary housing
- Textbook purchase
- Access and technology needed to support remote learning
- Assistive services that directly support classroom needs
- Rideshare/transportation costs
- Rent or utility bills
- Emergency healthcare expenses
- Childcare expenses
- Tuition and outstanding balances
