Grant funding brings free adult swim lessons to University Recreation members.

The grant supports individuals ages 18 and older who are looking to develop beginner-level swimming skills. Applicants must be current University Recreation members. Those selected will receive a package of eight group lessons to be completed within 30 days of the first session.
For currently enrolled KSU students, a University Recreation membership is automatically applied to accounts through the Rec Center Fee or the Online Learner Fee and is collected with tuition. Non-students can find more information about membership and pricing on the University Recreation website.
KSU is one of 42 programs across 22 states chosen to receive funding through the competitive grant process. The awards are part of a $1 million nationwide investment from the USA Swimming Foundation. The funding is expected to help approximately 6,000 adults nationwide gain essential water safety and swimming skills.
KSU’s aquatics program, part of University Recreation, offers access to state-of-the-art facilities and a variety of programming for students and the campus community. All swim instructors undergo extensive training, complete background checks, and many bring experience from competitive swimming backgrounds.
Interested University Recreation members can apply for the grant program through this form.
