The Division of Student Affairs utilizes the Owl Life platform to track student engagement throughout the Division in order to inform decision-making, support the continued development of a culture of evidence throughout the Division, and enhance the services and programs offered to the students of Kennesaw State University.

Branch Pathway A designated area within Suitable that organizes a particular student population, program, or institutional experience. 
Co-Curricular Transcript Scorecard The student's record of completed co-curricular experiences. The Scorecard can display activities, achievements, competencies, points, and other engagement information. 
Community Access  Student Organization / Organization Profile The area where students can access information about an organization, including its membership, activities, leadership, and other organization-related information. 
Event Event Activity  A scheduled activity in Suitable that allows students to participate and receive credit. Event Activities can use a Smart Code/QR Code for attendance. 
Event Categories  Experience Categories / Tags Classification tools used to organize activities and make it easier to filter, search, and report on student engagement. 
Forms  Forms A tool used to collect information from students or administrators. Forms can include questions, submissions, approvals, and other information connected to an activity or process. 
Limited Access  Access Roles / Permissions  Determines what a user is able to view, edit, manage, or administer within Suitable based on their assigned role and permissions. 
Manager  Manager A role that provides elevated permissions for managing a Student Organization and its associated information, members, and activities. 
Membership Membership / Member Role  Identifies a student's affiliation with a Student Organization and can be used to distinguish between different types of members or organizational roles. 
Messaging (Relay) Push Notifications  Allows administrators to communicate directly with students through notifications delivered through the Suitable mobile app. 
News Push Notifications / Organization Content  Information that needs to be communicated to students can be shared through push notifications or, depending on the purpose, within an organization's profile/content. 
Organization Type Organization Attributes / Tags  Information used to categorize and distinguish Student Organizations for organization management, filtering, and reporting. 
Paths Pathways A structured experience that organizes a student's engagement within a particular program, population, or institutional area. 
Position Templates Member Roles / Titles  Identifies a person's role or position within a Student Organization, such as President, Treasurer, Advisor, etc. 
Reports Reports / Data & Reporting  Tools used to view, analyze, filter, and export information related to student engagement, activities, attendance, organizations, and other data. 
Roster Organization Roster / Membership List  A list of individuals associated with a Student Organization. Depending on permissions, authorized users can manage members within the roster. 
Service Hours Service Hours / Service Record  Used to document, track, verify, and report on student service experiences and hours. 
Tapper (Card Reader) Smart Code / QR Code  The primary method for recording attendance at an Event Activity. Students use the Suitable mobile app to scan the event's unique QR code and receive participation credit. 
  •  The overarching term for an engagement opportunity within Suitable. Activities can generally be created as either Events or Tasks. 
  • A user with elevated access to manage certain areas of Suitable. The specific functions available depend on the administrator's assigned permissions. 
  • A recognition awarded to a student after completing a designated set of Activities or requirements. 
  • The process of recording a student's participation in an Event Activity. This is the terminology recommended for referring to the former “Tap-In” process. 
  • A defined group of students who share a particular characteristic, program, class year, or other designation and can be used for targeted engagement or reporting. 
  • A skill, learning outcome, or developmental area that students can demonstrate through their completed co-curricular experiences. 
  • The primary administrative landing page within Suitable where users can access key areas of the platform and view relevant information or metrics. 
  • A tool used to narrow down information within Suitable based on selected criteria, such as students, activities, dates, categories, or organizations. 
  • An Activity that occurs at a specific date and time and is generally used for events where student attendance or participation needs to be recorded. 
  • A broad classification used to organize Activities based on their type, purpose, or area of engagement. 
  • A collection of related Activities grouped together to represent a larger experience, program, or requirement. 
  • A more specific label applied to an Activity to help categorize, search, filter, and report on engagement. 
  • A function that allows an administrator to manually award participation credit to a student who did not successfully complete the standard check-in process. 
  • A designation that identifies a person's level or type of involvement within a Student Organization, such as Member, Leader, or Manager. 
  • The centralized page containing information about a Student Organization, including its description, membership, leadership, activities, and other relevant details. 
  • The list of students and other individuals currently associated with a Student Organization. 
  • A structured environment or experience that connects students to specific programs, populations, activities, and opportunities. 
  • The specific capabilities a user has within Suitable, determining what they can view, create, edit, manage, or administer.

  • A message sent through Suitable that can appear as a notification on a student's mobile device. 
  • A testing environment used to build, test, and make changes without affecting the live Production environment. 
  • A student's comprehensive record of their co-curricular engagement, including completed Activities, competencies, achievements, and points. 
  • Suitable's term for the unique QR code associated with an Event Activity. Students scan the Smart Code through the Suitable app to check in. 
  • The administrative area used to locate, view, and manage individual student records and engagement information. 
  • An organization within Suitable that provides a centralized space for managing organization information, members, leadership, activities, and engagement. 
  • An Activity that typically requires a student to complete something rather than attend an event. Tasks may include submissions, reflections, forms, or other requirements. 
  • The specific position or designation assigned to an organization member, such as President, Vice President, Treasurer, or Secretary. 
  • The process used to confirm that a student has completed or participated in an Activity. This may occur through a QR code scan, submission, approval, or another designated method.
