Jada Barronton Takes Legislative Experience From Georgia to Capitol Hill
KENNESAW, Ga. | Aug 24, 2026
This summer, Jada Barronton took her legislative experience from the Georgia State Capitol to Capitol Hill, where she tracked legislation and conducted policy research for a U.S. congressional office.
Barronton, a junior political science major in the SGIA, spent spring 2026 in the Georgia Legislative Internship Program (GLIP), where she assisted with the Senate Judiciary and Transportation committees. With support from the D.C. Owls Scholarship, Barronton then spent the summer interning in a U.S. House of Representatives office in Washington, D.C. She attended meetings with advocacy groups and Georgia constituents, drafted memos and supported staff with a variety of projects.
Congratulations to Jada for her success. All SGIA students are encouraged to apply internships like this one.
