CSM Poster Printing
As a student-centered, discovery-driven, and globally engaged R2 research unit, the College of Science and Mathematics (CSM) understands the importance of learning to present knowledge and research both locally and at regional, national, and international conferences and symposiums by traditionally offering poster printing services to our students at no cost.
These services are only available for CSM faculty, students, and staff who will be presenting their poster at a conference or symposium and are NOT intended for projects solely associated with student coursework. The guidelines to have your poster printed by department/college staff are listed below.
- PIs are responsible for submitting posters.
- CSM student posters should go through their PI to be checked for content errors, correct size dimensions, university guidelines (logo usage), spelling/grammar, etc., and receive final approval.
- Any posters submitted by students will be sent back, and the PI will be asked to submit the poster.
- Research poster dimensions should not exceed 36" x 48” or 42" x 42".
- CSM requires advanced notice of at least 3 full business days based on regular 8 am to 5 pm business hours prior to
the due date.
- Business days do not include Saturday, Sunday, or times outside regular business hours.
- If posters are submitted after hours or on the weekend, the first business day will be the next workday.
- If a deadline falls on the weekend or Monday, it will be extended to the next workday.
- CSM offers these services as a convenience to our faculty and students, and it should
be noted that we are not a full-service print shop. We cannot guarantee the availability
of materials or staff resources on demand.
- If a poster needs to be printed under the three (3) business day requirement, PIs are required to contact their department poster printing contact for confirmation that they can be accommodated before completing the form.
- Departments can print departmental resource materials (i.e., directories), and faculty can print Study Abroad posters for marketing purposes.
- Submission through the form is required for departmental resource or Study Abroad poster requests. Only one poster per request is allowed.
- Resource or marketing poster dimensions should not exceed 24" x 36".
By submitting a poster, you agree that you've reviewed the CSM Poster Printing Policy and acknowledge the guidelines set forth by the CSM Office of the Dean.
Submit Poster RequestTemplates:
- 36" x 48" vertical or horizontal (pptx)
- 24" x 36" vertical or horizontal (pptx)
- 36" x 36" (pptx)
Version 2:
- 36" x 48" vertical or horizontal (pptx)
- 24" x 36" vertical or horizontal (pptx)
- 36" x 36" (pptx)
Format Best Practices:
- Avoid using a color/gradient background.
- Avoid big blocks of small text.
- Use a non-serif font (Arial) for titles/headings. Use a serif font (Times) for body text. Serif fonts are much easier on the eyes at smaller sizes.
- Complete the entire poster on a single platform. Switching between PC and Mac platforms invites disaster, sometimes in the form of lost image files, gibberish text, or inoperable corrupt files.
- Use the programs "insert" or "place" options to insert images or graphics (copying and pasting images/graphics could result in no image or graphic).
