Academic Distinction Statement

The Department of Information Technology offers two undergraduate degrees—the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) and the Bachelor of Applied Science in Information Technology (BASIT)—along with two master's programs: the Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT) and the Master of Science in Cybersecurity (MSCYBR). In addition to these, the department shares the PhD in Computer Science program.

Our programs boast prestigious recognitions and high standards of excellence. The BSIT, BASIT, and MSIT programs are accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET under the General Criteria and Program Criteria for Information Technology, with the MSIT standing out as one of the earliest programs of its kind to earn ABET accreditation. Furthermore, the MSCYBR program proudly holds the NSA CAE-CD designation.

Driven by innovation, the department's research capacity and capabilities span many cutting-edge fields. These research areas include Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), cybersecurity, health informatics, networking and mobile computing, computing and AI education, robotics, computational biology, and data analytics and visualization.
