CS High School Internship Program

Designed for high school students currently enrolled in an internship course, this program allows students to conduct computer science research alongside faculty members at KSU. 

Internship Expectations

• On-site research commitments for a minimum of three days a week.
  • Each session lasts at least three hours for regular semesters and six hours over summer.
  • Session timing is flexible according to school schedules.
  • Occasional work on nights and weekends.
• Regular meetings with mentors, including oral presentations of research progress, at least once a week.
• Supplemental tasks necessary to complete the primary research project. 
• Submission of research paper to a conference or workshop.
  • Faculty mentors will chose the best submission fit for potential publication by the end of the internship.

During The Internship

• The internship offers high school class credit. It is not paid. 
• While on campus, students will have access to computer labs and scheduled meetings with their mentors.  Selected students will work on research projects under faculty supervision, gaining hands-on experience with literature surveys, algorithm design, data analysis, programming, research paper drafting for publication and more. 
• Students will also get a KSU ID and email account for accessing digital libraries like ACM and IEEE Xplore.
• Students are responsible for arranging their own transportation, including paying for parking permits if necessary.
