High school singers and directors are invited to Kennesaw State University for a day
of rehearsals, clinics, performances, and mentorship with acclaimed composer and arranger
Stacey V. Gibbs. The experience concludes with a public evening concert celebrating
choral excellence and the enduring power of the spiritual tradition.

8:00 a.m. – Registration Opens (Henriquez Atrium) 9:00–11:00 a.m. – Mass Choir Rehearsal with Stacey V. Gibbs (Morgan Hall) 11:00 a.m. – Performance by the KSU Chamber Singers 11:30 a.m. – Lunch Break (Available in the KSU Commons or Student Center) 1:00–5:00 p.m. – Observe Stacey V. Registration Information
High school choral directors are invited to register a quartet consisting of SATB
voices (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass) or their ensemble by Friday, September 18, 2026.
Directors attend free of charge
Directors must accompany participating students or provide appropriate chaperones
Music will be provided to all registered participants
In addition, prospective students will have the opportunity to schedule a private
voice lesson with a member of KSU's distinguished voice faculty during their visit.
Stacey V. Gibbs is a prolific and highly sought-after composer, arranger and clinician.
Best known for arrangements of spirituals, he is highly acclaimed for his ability
to infuse new energy into familiar works without sacrificing their authenticity or
power.
Maestro Gibbs’ spirituals have been commissioned and performed by the King’s Singers of England, United States Air Force Sergeants, The St. Olaf Choir, the Stellenbosch Choir of South Africa, the University of Southern California Chamber Singers, The Princeton Glee Club, Morehouse & the University of Michigan Glee Clubs, the Wartburg Choir, The Nairobi Chamber Singers, Cantus, Chanticleer and many other college, university, high school and professional ensembles both domestically and internationally. His music has been programmed at all state festivals, National Association of Music Educators (MENC) Festivals, the World Choir Games and regional and national American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) Conventions.
He currently has over 200 published arrangements available for SATB, SSAA and TTBB
voices.
His music was featured at the 57th Inaugural Service for President Obama and family.
Maestro Gibbs made his conducting debut at Carnegie Hall in 2017. His medley of spirituals
was performed by Choir of the World Winner, Oakwood Aeolians, and American Idol winner,
Reuben Studdard.
His arrangement of Go, Tell It on the Mountain, performed by True Accord, peaked at
#5 on Billboard Classical and #1 on Amazon Classical Music in December 2019.
In December 2020, his music was performed by the Mangate Ensemble and was broadcast
on NBC Television in all major markets.
Mr. Gibbs serves as clinician (nationally and internationally) for university, high
school, professional and church choral ensembles. A management professional with 20
years of experience, Mr. Gibbs holds membership in ACDA and currently resides in Detroit,
Michigan.

Where can we park for the day?
Individual vehicles can find and pay for the visitor parking lot across from the Bailey
Performance Center (LOT J).
Buses will need to make arrangements to park. This will be worked out with each director
ahead of the day of the event.
You can choose to eat in The Commons (across the Music Building) or walk to the nearby James V. Carmichael student center where you can find a Chick-fil-A, Moe’s Southwest Grill, Panda Express, Starbucks, and Jamba.
