Kennesaw State University encourages the strategic and meaningful use of social media to connect with students, faculty, staff, alumni, fans and the broader KSU community.
If your college, department, school or program is interested in creating an official social media presence, or if you have any questions regarding the management or maintenance of a University-affiliated social media account, please email socialmedia@kennesaw.edu. Building a successful social media presence involves more than creating an account. Effective social media is built on two-way communication—listening, engaging, and sharing valuable content with your audience.
If you are ready to set up a social media presence, view our Social Media Resources to read about the next steps.
Faculty and staff who manage or create social media content are encouraged to join the KSU Social Media Community. Members gain exclusive access to training, shared resources, and University-wide support. If you are interested in learning more about these resources and would like to participate in the larger KSU social media community, please email socialmedia@kennesaw.edu to be added to our directory.
Profile Images
To protect the integrity of the Kennesaw State University logo and ensure consistency across official accounts, all social media avatars, profile images, and cover images must follow the KSU Social Media Profile Image Guidelines.
All social media accounts created for conducting official University business and maintained in the name of Kennesaw State University must use approved, branded social media profile images.*
Please Note: Images with a black background are reserved for the main Kennesaw State University social media accounts. Profile images with a gold background are reserved for the 13 colleges of Kennesaw State University. Profile images with a white or gray background are available to any other academic or administrative unit (office, department, program, center, etc.).
Please view and download approved profile images.

* Affiliate Brands: Affiliate brands are brands that have a direct connection or partnership with the University—such as registered student organizations, club teams, business partners, sponsors, retail affiliates and associations of the University. The KSU Foundation, Alumni Association, Parent and Family Association along with other approved units on campus that may provide services at a commercial level, are authorized to use an affiliate brand. Affiliate brands may use approved alternate branded social media images with a white or gray background.
The colors, designs and proportions of official social media profile images may not be altered, no additional text may be added, and designs or objects may not be placed on top of official profile images.
Do not use social media profile images as official logos. Official logos are available for download from University Branding.
Administrative and academic units are encouraged to use social media cover images to display photos, text, or other information that is relevant and engaging to the unit audience. Do not use official logos in your cover art. Use of the University brand—including the logo, name, and other brand identifiers—must be reviewed by the Office of Strategic Communications and Marketing.
Please submit approval requests to Brand Approval Form. For questions or assistance, please contact socialmedia@kennesaw.edu.
