Project Overview
The Athos Menaboni Pavilion and Emily Bourne Grigsby Gallery transformed approximately 5,000 square feet within Chastain Pointe Building 100 into a premier exhibition space for Kennesaw State University's College of the Arts. Supported in part by a generous private donor, the renovation established a permanent home for the University's Athos Menaboni art collection while creating a flexible student gallery dedicated to the School of Art & Design's Capstone Project exhibitions. The completed space includes the Menaboni Pavilion, the Emily Bourne Grigsby Gallery, a shared gallery pre-function and reception area, gallery workroom, and supporting spaces designed to accommodate both permanent and rotating exhibitions.
The project marked a significant milestone in Kennesaw State University's vision for the Chastain Pointe Arts District and advanced the University's R2 Roadmap by continuing the relocation of the College of the Arts to a dedicated creative hub. The relocation of the student gallery from the Wilson Building created additional flexibility to support the ongoing operation of Stillwell Theatre, while moving the Menaboni Collection from the Zuckerman Museum into a donor-funded permanent rotating exhibition space enhanced public access to the University's permanent art collection and provided valuable relief for the museum's collection storage. Together, these improvements expanded opportunities for student learning, strengthened community engagement through the arts, and reinforced KSU's commitment to providing inspiring spaces for creativity, collaboration, and artistic excellence.
