Computer Labs at the KSU Libraries

Computer labs at both KSU Libraries provide students access to PC and Mac workstations, plus high-performance stations with specialized software for Art, Engineering, and Architecture majors. ADA-accessible stations are available and include large screens, high-visibility keyboards, JAWS screen reader, and adjustable-height tables.

Sturgis Computer Lab

Sturgis Library (Kennesaw) - Ground Floor

  • 2 Guest Dell Computers
  • 2 ADA computer stations

Johnson Computer Lab

Johnson Library (Marietta) - Main Floor

  • 72 Student Dell Computers
  • 28 iMac Computers
  • 17 High Performance Windows Computers*
  • 2 Guest Dell Computers
  • 2 ADA computer stations

KSU students must use their KSU NetID login credentials for access.

*High Performance Computers have extra art, engineering, math, and architecture, computing programs installed.

KSU Libraries High Performance Computers

Both Johnson Library (Marietta) and Sturgis Library (Kennesaw) have added several high performance computers (HPCs) to their computer labs. These computers have more processing power and specialized software not installed on the computers in the rest of the lab. HPCs are available on a first come, first served basis.

Where are the High Performance Computers?

  • They are located in the first row of each computer lab closest to the check out desk

What software is available?

Signs are next to each computer indicating available programs including:

  • AutoCAD
  • Solidworks
  • SPSS Statistics

Assistive Technology Workstations

Both libraries have assistive technology workstations available for students that have a large screen, high visibility keyboard, JAWS software, and an adjustable height table. Headphones are available for check out at the front desk of both libraries.

Sturgis Library (Kennesaw)

  • 1 computer located on the ground floor between the reference help desk and south elevators
  • 1 computer located on the first floor near the north elevators

Johnson Library (Marietta)

  • 2 computers located in the computer lab.

Guest Computers

Both libraries have public workstations, labeled as "guest computers”, that give visitors access to the library catalog and the internet. These computers are available on a first come, first served basis.

  • Sturgis Library (Kennesaw) - 2 guest computers are in the second row of the main computer lab on the ground (entrance level) floor.
  • Johnson Library (Marietta)- 2 guest computers are directly across from the checkout desk.

Microfiche/Microfilm Computer

Sturgis Library (Kennesaw)has a microfiche/microfilm reader located on the 3rd floor in the north study area.

Johnson Library (Marietta) does not have a microfiche/microfilm reader.

Note: this computer is not connected to the internet. Please bring a flashdrive or see the front desk to borrow one if you want to save your scans.

Technology Available for Checkout

Both Sturgis (Kennesaw) and Johnson (Marietta) Libraries have a variety of technology available. Please ask at the library check out desk for availability and loan periods.
