    Job Summary   
    Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a twelve-month, non-tenure track Collegiate Librarian and Librarian Assistant Professor or Librarian Associate Professor faculty position in the University Libraries with a preferred start date of July 2026. Rank is determined at the time of hiring and will be commensurate with credentials. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia and will serve the Coles College of Business.   
      
    Responsibilities   
    • Provide instruction in research and information literacy for both face-to-face and online classes.  
    • Foster relationships with faculty to incorporate library instruction into courses in multifaceted ways   
    • Develop and maintain digital or physical instructional materials to support subject disciplines and individual courses   
    • Develop academic enrichment opportunities to support advanced student and faculty research   
    • Develop and maintain partnerships with KSU units, departments, centers, etc. that support student and faculty research efforts and collection development. Support university research teams' activities and initiatives.    
    • Maintain working knowledge of emerging trends in librarianship and advanced research support    
    • Engage in service to University Libraries, the campus, and/or the profession.   
    • Participate in scholarship, research, and/or creative activity. Contribute to the development of the library profession and/or subject-specific discipline through scholarship, presentations, and publications.    

      
    Because our libraries are open 7 days a week and in the evenings, this position will occasionally be required to work during these times to serve the needs of the students. This position will work on both the Kennesaw and Marietta campuses.   
      
    Required Qualifications   

    • An earned terminal degree, or the foreign equivalent, appropriate to a contemporary research-intensive library, such as an MLIS, or other related equivalent terminal degree, or the foreign equivalent is required at the time of hire.   
    • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills   
    • A minimum of 1 year of instruction experience   

      
    Preferred Qualifications   

    • Experience working as a librarian in an academic library, related institution or equivalent experience.  
    • Excellent presentation skills    
    • A record of professional service   
    • A record of developing scholarship within academic librarianship or a subject specialty

    Job Summary

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for the unit program management for eResources, cataloging, collection management, and systems
    • Closely monitor the new and renewed resources and ensure best practices in discovery
    • Serve as next-level elevation for concerns relating to the overall discovery, troubleshooting, and usability of library resources
    • Stay apprised of USG Consortium Cataloging, ERM, and discovery policies, procedures, problems, and discussions
    • Meet with team members routinely and communicate upwards any causes for concerns or new resources of note
    • Participate as a member of unit leadership and contribute to the development of unit goals, objectives, policies, procedures and service standards
    • Develop and maintain partnerships with KSU units, departments, centers, etc.
    • Engage in service to University Libraries, the campus, and/or the profession

    Job Summary

    Responsible for support and maintenance of library applications and systems. Works closely with third-party vendors and various departments within the university to configure, support, upgrade, test, troubleshoot, document, and provide training for library applications. Maintains the internal communications lines for the Resource Strategy and Management Unit and serves as first-line troubleshooting for internal tickets.

    1. Provides support and maintenance of library applications, including but not limited to configuration, security settings, problem resolution, monitoring, testing, troubleshooting,
      documenting, and providing end-user training
    2. Works closely with multiple internal teams across disparate groups to resolve client support issues
    3. Understands customer requests and provides support for units across the library as well as library users
    4. Update and resolve service requests and tickets in a timely and professional manner
    5. Escalates issues to members of Resource Strategy and Management, University Information Technology Services, library employees, and vendors as appropriate
    6. Collaborates closely with project managers to provide updates on project progress and communicate issues that may impact project success
    7. Contributes to the development of best practices and standard operating procedures within the Resource Strategy and Management Unit.

Library Student Assistant Positions 

  • Position Description  

    The KSU University Libraries Academic Engagement and Instruction (AEI) unit is hiring a graduate student assistant to provide service support for research consultations and library instruction. This position helps sustain day-to-day workflows by assisting with scheduling research consultations and instruction, documentation, data maintenance, communication, and other operational tasks connected to AEI services. 
    The ideal candidate will have strong written and verbal communication skills, sound judgment, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage recurring tasks with consistency. The candidate should be comfortable working with students, faculty, and library personnel and should be able to learn and apply library systems, service procedures, and scheduling workflows. 
    Graduate student employees will report to the AEI Assistant Directors or their designees. The AEI unit will provide training on relevant library programs, platforms, and service processes. This position will predominantly work at the Sturgis Library on the Kennesaw campus, with occasional support for services or meetings connected to the Marietta campus as needed. 
     
    Requirements and qualifications

    Required

    • Must be a current KSU graduate student and meet the minimum credit hour enrollment requirement for graduate assistants. 
    • Previous experience in customer service, office support, scheduling, front desk operations, or another detail-oriented service environment. 
    • Ability and willingness to learn library procedures, scheduling systems, and service workflows. 
    • Strong organizational skills, dependability, discretion, and close attention to detail. 
    • Ability to communicate professionally with students, faculty, staff, and librarians. 
    • Availability to work a regular weekly schedule, primarily during business hours, with flexibility during high-volume service periods (generally  September through November and February through April). 

    Preferred

    • Previous library experience or experience supporting academic services in a college or university setting. 
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, shared calendars, spreadsheets, and online scheduling tools. 
    • Comfortable with reviewing web-based content for accuracy and usability, including links, videos, screenshots, and written directions. 
    • Ability to work independently while also coordinating effectively with a team. 

    Responsibilities

    • Assist with scheduling and coordination of research consultations, including monitoring requests, communicating with users, and helping route appointments to AEI librarians. 
    • Help maintain internal notes, documentation, and service records related to research consultation and instruction workflows. 
    • Check links, videos, and other content in the Research Consultation LibGuide and other service-related online resources or documentation for accuracy and functionality. 
    • Update links and online resource content as assigned and according to established procedures. 
    • Assist with annual system review and workflow cleanup. Provide primary scheduling coverage during periods when full-time staff are unavailable or during especially busy service periods. 
    • Assist with monthly data cleaning and assist with spreadsheet maintenance, data entry, and basic reporting support. 
    • Assist with scheduling and service support for library instruction sessions, including helping track requests, confirm details, and communicate with instructors and librarians. 
    • Assist with library instruction sessions as a classroom or logistics assistant, as schedule allows. 
    • Support additional AEI administrative, operational, and service-related projects as assigned. 

    Preferred work schedule

    • Work at least 3 days a week, Monday through Thursday preferred. Work about 12-15 hours per week, but no more than 20 hours.
    • Shifts should be at least 3 hours long, between 8am and 5pm.

    The KSU Department of Museums, Archives, Rare Books, and University Archives is looking for a high energy, creative, outgoing student who would like to help the Communications team with social media, graphics, event planning and execution, and more. Hours are flexible, to a maximum of 20 hours per week. 

    Assignments will include: 

    • Building relationships with co-workers and other students, faculty, and staff
    • Assisting with event planning, room set-up, and event-day operations
    • Producing content and managing communities for Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, including taking photos and videos at events and beyond
