Students, donors, and campus partners gathered to celebrate student achievement and the impact of donor support during the Student Affairs Scholarship Reception.

The Division of Student Affairs recognized more than 20 student scholarship recipients during its Scholarship Reception on April 17 at the Joe Mack Wilson Student Center on the Marietta Campus.

The event began with lunch and networking as students, donors, staff, and guests gathered to celebrate the impact of scholarship across the division.

Dr. Eric Arneson, Vice President for Student Affairs, opened the program by welcoming attendees and recognizing the students whose academic journeys have been strengthened through the generosity of donors.

Of the students recognized was Brissa Hernandez, an accounting and business management major, who was the recipient of the American Opportunity Foundation, Inc. Scholarship and the Cambridge Young Adults: Money & Responsibility Scholarship.

“I am blessed and honored to have shared my story, and I am truly grateful to the American Opportunity Foundation and the Society of International Business Fellows scholarship for their support,” Hernandez said. “Their generosity has allowed me to stand proud in the place I am today.”

Arneson closed the event by thanking scholarship supporters and guests for their continued investment in student success at KSU. The reception concluded with additional networking and mingling among attendees.

Scholarship support helps create opportunities for students to thrive both inside and outside the classroom. Those interested in supporting future student scholarships can contact the Division of University Advancement at giving@kennesaw.edu.
