Badminton Enthusiast Club awarded Parent and Family Grant to support training and engagement

Funded through KSU’s commemorative brick sales, the Parent and Family Grant Program allocated money from each brick purchase to a fund that directly supports registered student organizations. Organizations can apply for funding by submitting an application that includes a short video highlighting their goals and needs.
The program is produced by the Department of Parent and Family Programs, which focuses on keeping families connected to KSU. The department provides engagement opportunities and equips families to support their students throughout their KSU journey.
Applications for the Parent and Family Grant Program are reviewed by members of the
Parent and Family Advisory Council, in collaboration with staff members from the Division of University Advancement and the Division of Student Affairs.

The Badminton Enthusiast Club received funding to purchase Lin-Mei 90 feather badminton birdies to enhance training for its members. The organization aims to provide a welcoming and competitive environment for students of all skill levels and encourages physical activity and community-building.
“We would like to give a huge thank you to the Parent and Family Grant Program for funding our Ling-Mei birdies for training,” said Joel Louise, marketing officer for the club.
This marks the first year the Parent and Family Grant Program has offered grant funding to registered student organizations, with the goal of empowering student organizations by enhancing programming opportunities, supporting professional development, and increasing student engagement.
