Are you a Kennesaw State student interested in learning more about fraternities and sororities on campus? We pulled together some frequently asked questions about Greek life at KSU. 

What is FSL?

At Kennesaw State, all social Greek Life falls under the Department of Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL). Their goal is to enhance the college experience of 35 fraternities and sororities and provide opportunities for campus connections and leadership.

How many fraternities & sororities are at KSU?

There are 35 chapters across 4 councils, including 15 culturally based organizations.

What is the minimum GPA to join FSL?

There is a 2.5 minimum GPA requirement for Potential New Members, but specific chapters may require a higher GPA.

How do I join a fraternity or sorority?

  • College Panhellenic Council (CPC) recruitment is September 4-7, 2026
  • Interfraternity Council (IFC) recruitment is September 9-18, 2026
  • National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) convocation is September 13, 2026
  • "Meet MGC", hosted by the Multicultural Greek Council (MGC), is September 11, 2026
    • NPHC and MGC will host interest/informational/rush meetings throughout the semester

Common acronyms & terms to know

Bid - An invitation to join a fraternity or sorority.
Bid Day - The final day of a recruitment period when bids are distributed.
Chapter - The campus group of a national organization.
CPC - College Panhellenic Council.
IFC - Interfraternity Council.
Legacy - Someone who has a relationship to the sorority/fraternity due to a biological connection with an existing member (e.g., mother, brother, or grandmother).
MGC - Multicultural Greek Council.
NPHC - National Pan-Hellenic Council.
PNM - Potential New Member

Important Dates

  • August 26 - Wow-A-Palooza
    • WOW A Palooza will bring together students from diverse backgrounds and talents to be united and elevate the student experience. We will provide tabling, interactive activities, inflatables, food truck meals, giveaways, music, and more to expose students to the various opportunities that Fraternity & Sorority Life brings and other campus resources.

  • August 29 - Deadline to register for CPC recruitment
  • September 4-7 - CPC Recruitment; Bid Day is September 7
  • September 9 - Deadline to register for IFC recruitment
  • September 9-18 - IFC Recruitment; Bid Day is September 18
  • September 11 - Meet MGC
  • September 13 - NPHC Convocation

*Registration is required for all recruitments and convocations.
