Deliverable Completed scholarly or creative activity, documented and reported to the Office of Research
Application Deadline September 25, 2026

    • Supports scholarly, creative, and professional activity across all disciplines — not limited to traditional grant-funded research.
    • Awards of up to $5,000; designed for discrete deliverables (a publication, a performance, a keynote) rather than multi-year programs.
    • Four eligible activity categories: publication of articles, books, or creative works; artistic performances, exhibitions, or design projects; conference presentations, keynote lectures, or workshops.
    • Open to full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty across all disciplines, directly advancing the college’s mission to advance knowledge, inspire students, and raise Radow College’s professional visibility.
  • The Creative Scholarship Award supports the full breadth of faculty scholarly and creative work across Radow College, recognizing that meaningful scholarly contribution takes many forms beyond traditional grant-funded research. The award provides support if up to $5,000 for faculty pursuing publication, artistic and creative production, and professional dissemination, each of which advances knowledge, enriches the student experience, and raises the college’s professional standing.
  • Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

    • Full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty member in the Radow College of Humanities and Social Sciences, in good standing, across any discipline.
    • Proposed activity must fall within one or more of the following eligible categories: publication of articles, books, or creative works; artistic performances, exhibitions, or design projects; conference presentations, keynote lectures, or workshops.
    • Applicants should demonstrate that the requested activity has a defined, near-term deliverable or outcome (e.g., a submission, performance date, presentation) rather than an open-ended or multi-year research program.
    • Faculty may receive one Creative Scholarship Award per academic year; applicants who received a prior award must show a distinct new activity or deliverable.
    • Applicants pursuing early-stage or preliminary research, rather than creative or dissemination, should consider the Research Advancement Grants (Tier 1) instead, as it better fits that type of work
    1. Application Submission: Completed application submitted via the college’s designated system (e.g., InfoReady or email to the Radow College Associate Dean of Research) by the posted deadline.
    2. Required Components:
      –    Brief narrative (2–3 pages) describing the activity, its significance, and the expected deliverable/timeline
      –    Itemized budget and justification (up to $5,000).
      –    Supporting documentation, as applicable (e.g., letter of acceptance/invitation for a conference or exhibition, publisher contract or submission confirmation, or course proposal outline).
      –    CV or biosketch.
    3. Internal Review: Applications will be reviewed by the Radow College Associate Dean of Research (or a designated committee) using the Evaluation Rubric below.
    4. Notification & Award Setup: Successful applicants will be notified in writing via email; funding will be made available through the college’s standard budget/procurement process.
    5. Final Report: Awardees must submit a brief summary of the completed activity and resulting deliverable (e.g., publication citation, performance/exhibition record, presentation confirmation, or adopted course materials).
  • Applications are reviewed for the significance and quality of the proposed scholarly or creative activity, the clarity and feasibility of the stated deliverable, and the appropriateness of the requested budget. Because this award spans four distinct activity types — publication, creative production, dissemination — reviewers will evaluate each proposal on its own merits relative to disciplinary norms and typical costs for that activity type rather than applying a single uniform standard across categories. Awards are competitive and not guaranteed based on eligibility alone.
  • Criterion Weight Scoring Guidance

Dissemination/Documentation Plan 10% Plan for documenting or sharing the outcome (e.g., publication record, performance program, presentation slides, adopted course materials).

Total: 100%. Minimum threshold score for funding recommendation to be determined by the reviewer.
