Prepare for Success in Your Science and Mathematics Courses!

The College of Science and Mathematics' Problem-solving, Reasoning, and Engagement for Student Success (PRESS) Summer Bridge Program readies incoming Kennesaw State University first -year students for a strong start to their fall science and mathematics courses. During the PRESS program, students will:

  • Review/preview material to prepare for fall science or mathematics courses
  • Engage in active, hands-on learning experiences that support retention
  • Learn with peers by working in small groups to solve problems
  • Receive personalized support from faculty and peer mentors
  • Explore Kennesaw State University (KSU) campus
  • Create new friendships with fun, social activities
  • Receive KSU swag

 

How do I apply?

Thank you for your interest. The CSM PRESS application is currently closed and will open in mid-April. Stay tuned!

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis and assigned prep courses will be sent out to accepted students’ KSU email by Wednesday, July 1, 2026. Accepted students must confirm their participation by responding to the acceptance email by Wednesday, July 8, 2026. 

Available Courses

Program Details

For 2026, all sessions will take place on the Kennesaw Campus.

  • Week 1 prep courses will take place Monday, July 27th, through Thursday, July 30th from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm.  
  • Week 2 prep courses will take place Monday, August 3rd, through Thursday, August 6th from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm

You may take at most one (1) course each week. Students must be available for the entire week. PRESS includes lunch, snacks, and social activities throughout the program.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  • There is a $100 commitment fee per week that will be refunded to those who complete the program. 

    Extenuating circumstances may be considered for a refund. Extenuating circumstances do not include work or vacation conflicts.

    We do not want the commitment fee to keep students from participating in the program. If you would like to request a waiver, please send an email to Dr. Callahan via csmpress@kennesaw.edu.  

 

    • Mid-April: Application open
    • Wednesday, June 24, 2026: Application deadline
    • Wednesday, July 1, 2026: Application acceptances are sent and housing assigned.
    • Wednesday, July 8, 2026: Accepted students must confirm participation.

 

  • Limited housing is available to first-time, full-time incoming students (20 spots) who live more than 50 miles away on a first-come, first-served basis for Week 1 only. There is no housing cost for PRESS. 

    To be considered for housing, you must

    1. be over 18 years of age by July 1st, 2026 and
    2. registered for fall 2026 classes at KSU.

    *Note that housing is NOT available during Week 2.

 

  • Participants must be KSU students (incoming freshmen, transfer, continuing, or returning) who are registered to take a science or mathematics course for the fall semester.

 

  • At this time, PRESS is only offered in person Monday-Thursday, 8:30 am-2:30 pm, during the dates listed above. Students must be available for the entire week.
