Following recent invitations earned by the Wind Ensemble and Chamber Singers, the Symphony Orchestra has been selected to perform at the 2027 Georgia Music Educators Association In-Service Conference.
The Bailey School of Music is proud to announce that the Kennesaw State University Symphony Orchestra has been selected to perform at the Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) Annual In-Service Conference in 2027. The invitation is a significant honor for the university's music program and recognizes the ensemble's exceptional artistry and achievement.

“Selection for GMEA is highly competitive and highly coveted,” said Dr. Nathan Nabb, director of the Dr. Bobbie Bailey School of Music. “Being chosen through a blind, juried process speaks to the outstanding artistry of our students and the exceptional leadership of Dr. Nathaniel F. Parker. Following the invitations extended to our Chamber Singers and Wind Ensemble for the 2026 conference, this recognition for the Symphony Orchestra further demonstrates the consistent excellence of our ensembles and the transformative educational experiences available to our students.”
Each year, dozens of scholastic and community ensembles compete for a chance to perform at the Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) Annual In-Service Conference, the state's premier event for music education and professional development. As a state affiliate of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), GMEA selects performing ensembles through a highly competitive blind adjudication process that recognizes outstanding musical achievement and artistic excellence.
Composed primarily of music majors, the Symphony Orchestra performs a diverse repertoire of orchestral masterworks, contemporary works and collaborations with guest artists. Its invitation to perform at the 2027 GMEA In-Service Conference recognizes the ensemble's musical excellence and growing prominence throughout the region.
The 2027 GMEA Annual In-Service Conference will take place in Athens, Georgia. Additional details regarding the Symphony Orchestra's performance date and time will be announced in the coming months.
